Boston area hospitals launch portal for global data research

The Massachusetts Clinical Gateway, a new web portal that allows companies from around the world to connect and collaborate with the state's academic medical centers for clinical research and programs, has gone live.

Representatives from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, the Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals and the Worcester, Mass.-based University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center made the announcement at the Biotechnology Industry Organization's annual convention.

Fourteen teaching hospitals are participating in the initial launch of the portal including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and VA Boston Healthcare.
