Hundreds of medical records found on Houston sidewalk

The private medical records of about 1,800 patients were found on a sidewalk in a Houston neighborhood, according to a report by KHOU 11.

Hundreds of private medical records were found by a KHOU 11 employee while walking down a sidewalk in Houston’s Midtown neighborhood. According to the report, the records were from about 1,800 patients at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and TIRR Memorial Hermann.

Private information exposed in the documents included: patients’ names, dates of birth, diagnoses, treatment, medication lists, vital signs and admission dates.
