Virtual training, simulated care exercises temporarily free for clinical learners

The educational technology company Ascend Learning is offering clinical simulations and virtual training modules free of charge through May 15.

Tapping evidence-based materials developed by its affiliated organizations, the company now has complimentary content on such healthcare topics as low back pain, opioid use and antibiotics stewardship, as well as mental health risk, population health management and team-based care coordination.

The company announced the move as part of its COVID response in a blog post April 27.

“As we all navigate this ‘new normal,’ it’s more important than ever to successfully leverage the latest learning technologies, particularly in the world of healthcare,” says Nathan Walts, VP of product strategy for Ascend Learning Clinical Healthcare, in the post. “We have been deliberate in selecting areas of care that cross all sectors of healthcare and providing opportunities for a variety of professionals to improve their skills and ultimately patient outcomes in these areas.”
