The European Union has certified AI software for reading mammograms, clearing the way for a South Korea-based AI vendor to sell another of its AI products across the European Economic Area.
Seoul-based Lunit announced the CE certification of its Insight MMG product June 2.
The announcement cites a study recently published in Lancet Digital Health showing the software outperformed breast-cancer specialists when the humans worked alone and even when they were aided by AI.
Last fall Lunit gained CE certification for its AI-based chest x-ray solution.
