Researchers can detect risk of genetic disorders by scanning old family photographs

Innovative technologies continue to push all boundaries.

Researchers at Oxford University’s Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine found a way to convert old photographs into crucial documents predicting future genetic diseases. Its machine learning and computer technology project, Clinical Face Phenotype Space, correctly detected faces with a disorder with 99.5 percent accuracy, reports Newsweek.
