Healthcare consultants now have a way to demonstrate their expertise in the area of patient-centered medical homes (PCMH). The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) established the PCMH content expert certification to help provider organizations gauge consultants’ knowledge of the NCQA PCMH recognition program.

With 5,000 currently recognized, NCQA’s PCMH program has been the most widely adopted, according to a Jan. 17 statement. Consultants can build and prove their knowledge of NCQA’s specific PCMH requirements through the certification program, which requires arrending two educational seminars and passing an exam on topics from application procedures to documentation requirements.
