Federal health officials announced a major milestone for the health insurance exchanges, scheduled to open for enrollment on Oct. 1.

According to the Washington Post, federal officials have confirmed the completion of the Federal Data Services Hub, a system that will verify peoples’ Social Security numbers, immigration status and other information when they log onto government websites to buy healthcare plans and purchase government subsidies.

“After over two years of work, [the hub] is built and ready for operation, and we have completed security testing and certification to operate,” Todd Park, chief technology officer of the United States, told the Washington Post. See the article below:
