How to learn more about enterprise imaging at HIMSS17 in Orlando

HIMSS has once again put together a great selection of keynote speakers, educational sessions and exhibitors for HIMSS17 in Orlando, Fla.

As I looked over the full schedule, which is available right here, I noticed that the conference will rightly be focusing on one of the biggest topics in healthcare: enterprise imaging.

First, there’s the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Workgroup Meetup on Feb. 20. The HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Workgroup was launched in 2014 and already has almost 100 members. The group gathers at various annual meetings to discuss the importance of enterprise imaging, and its members have produced seven white papers on the subject. It’s exciting anytime professional societies work together, and the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Workgroup is a wonderful example of that.

Interested in attending the meetup? Well, you’re in luck! As long as you are a member of either HIMSS or SIIM, you are welcome to join in on the fun.

Enterprise imaging will also be the focus of an educational session on the very next day, Feb. 21. The session, Enterprise Imaging—Building a Solutions Roadmap, will be hosted by one of the industry’s biggest experts on enterprise imaging: Louis Lannum, director of Enterprise Imaging at Cleveland Clinic. Personally, I’d listen to Lannum speak about any subject under the sun, but knowing that he’ll be sharing information about a topic he knows so well shows me that HIMSS knew what they were doing when they crafted their schedule.

If you’ll be attending HIMSS17, I highly recommend you seek out the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Workgroup and attend Lannum’s presentation.

At the very least, make room in your week for one of the two. Either you learn more about enterprise imaging now or you risk being left behind.
