Cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) company eClinicalWorks has been approved to integrate with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Blue Button 2.0 application programming interface (API).
CMS Blue Button 2.0 contains four years of Medicare Part A, B and D data for beneficiaries, according to the agency's website. Blue Button 2.0 allows beneficiaries to have full control over how their data is used and who can use it. Information in the data includes: Medicare coverage, drug prescriptions, primary care treatment and cost.
By integrating with CMS Blue Button 2.0, eClinicalWorks will help support and improve patient access to health data.
