eClinicalWorks introduces cloud-based platform for EHR, revenue cycle management

eClinicalWorks will announce the launch of a cloud-based platform for Acute Care EHR and Revenue Cycle Management during HIMSS18.

“From a clinical standpoint, a unified EHR allows us to offer safer and more efficient care to our patients,” said Millie Shinn, RN, eClinicalWorks' director of clinical informatics. “What has been most impressive is eClinicalWorks’ development approach during this process. They have designed the Acute Care EHR based upon the guidance of actual clinicians. We are incredibly excited about expanding our partnership with eClinicalWorks.”

Hamilton Healthcare System, a 42-bed community hospital, will be the first to utilize the new system that aims to improve the flow of information between ambulatory and acute care. The Acute Care EHR and Revenue Cycle Management system intends to lower the cost of ownership for Hamilton when compared to industry averages, while also creating a comprehensive medical record dashboard with clinical details for the emergency department, inpatient department and operating room.

“It has always been our goal to have one unified EHR. We evaluated numerous health information system vendors in 2010,” said Chad Reinert, CIO of Hamilton Healthcare System. “As a small community hospital, we concluded that a progressive unified EHR for inpatient, ER and ambulatory settings simply was not available for a cost that we could afford. We were excited to hear the announcement about eClinicalWorks’ Acute Care initiative and we have been very pleased with the product’s continued development over the past two years and the potential it has for our organization.”
