Apple has applied for a patent for a wearable blood pressure monitor—a cuff with sensors that could be compatible with Bluetooth, according to The Verge.

As cardiovascular disease rates increase, partly due to an aging population, Apple and other technology giants are aiming to provide patients with the easiest method to track blood pressure. The proposed wearable sits on the arm or leg and would include one or more sensors, depending on design, to measure the wearer’s blood pressure in real-time.
