USF tops online rankings for health informatics master's degrees

Value Colleges, an online guide ranking the top values of undergraduate and graduate education, has released their “Top 50 Best Value Health Informatics Master's Degrees” report, naming the University of South Florida as the No. 1 program in the country.

As health informatics continues to grow in importance in the healthcare industry, the need for educated and highly qualified candidates to fill positions has grown. In this report, Value Colleges listed the top universities providing a master’s in Health Informatics. In evaluating the universities, Value used three data points to determine their list. The points included were reputation (U.S. News & World Report ranking), cost (current IPEDS public data) and success (average alumni salary).

The top 5 universities included:

  1. University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida
  2. Stanford University in Stanford, California
  3. Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia
  4. University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
  5. Columbia University in New York
